Training Courses
In 2009 the Alabama legislature passed a progressive incentive package to lure television and film productions to the state. As part of our mission, AIDT was again tasked with providing training, this time for this very unique industry.
Through research and consultation with industry professionals, it became clear that to attract productions from outside of Alabama, a trained workforce would be needed. In 2010, AIDT developed and launched EMPACT, the Entertainment Media Production and Crew Training program.
EMPACT was developed to train Alabamians in the basic skills of Set Construction and Lighting/Grip Production.
